I'll be updating recent news in brief from now on here in tandem with my newsletter. Thanks for reading!

Of Cloven Hoof in Honey

I am extremely excited to play drums (and clarinet and voice) on the new Nika Mo album which I think is a triumph. Beautiful music which really draws out the best in an amazing team of Boorloo-based musicians. The below photo is from the launch show as part of the Audible Edge festival at The Rechabite Hall, with costumes made by Volim.

Stream/purchase it on the Tone List BandCamp.

The Audible Edge festival itself was curated by myself and Annika. SeeSaw magazine made a bunch of reviews of it - you can read them here, here, here and here. It was undoubtedly our most succesful year yet, and also a massive fluke in many ways in terms of being actually able to do it - but I hugely thank the Western Australian government via the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries, the City of Perth, and all of our partners - Liquid Architecture, Cool Change Contemporary, Tura New Music, The Bird, The Rechabite and the Perth Jazz Society - for helping us make it happen.

If you missed it, you can peruse the program here and check out some of the online elements.
Where and how to gather

I've curated a new collection of pandemic creations, which is up now on Disclaimer journal. It features videos, essays, audio, installations and poetic contributions. You can read it here.

We also threw a great launch show thanks to astounding performances from Myriad Sun, Aisyah Sumito, Noemie Huttner-Koros & Merino Chute (Michael Terren).

Sounding Together

As part of Disclaimer, Tone List released a collection of written works in tandem with this pair of audio pieces from the Sounding Together workshop. You can read the collection here or download the album at this link.
