Recording

Location Sound Recording

Trained in both composition & audio technology, I can offer superb and transparent recordings of live concerts, as well as on-location audio for interviews, podcasts, theatre and dance shows, installations or other creative and experimental projects. I particularly enjoy recording outdoors and my equipment is built to work in rain, humidity and strong temperatures.

I use world class equipment by Neumann, Sennheiser, DPA, Rycote and Sound Devices as part of my portable kit.

Rates & Contact

About Me

I became interested in sound recording on-location through working on my own music, both collecting field recordings & improvising in-situ. I consider the recording process as a composition process, rather than simply one of documentation, and am fascinated by the challenge of capturing the atmosphere, energy and spatial elements of performances.

As well as having studied Composition & Music Technology at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, I've accumulated experience over the last 4 years making documentation for the experimental music scene: the record label Tone List, as well as events by Outcome Unknown and Tura New Music. I have worked on projects presented at Perth Festival, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Wild Freo, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Summer Nights Festival, and Cool Change Contemporary, and released on labels Tone List and Edition Wandelweiser Records as well as self-releases. My field recordings of Dryandra Woodlands are exhibited in the conservation space within the park, Barna Mia.
